A wedding to end the summer

To wrap up summer we went to Nick's cousins wedding at Boyne Highlands.  Tommy and Johnnie had a beautiful wedding!  The facility was very kid friendly and we had a lot of fun!  The boys got to wear their suit's which they always like.

 Johnnie looked beautiful

They had the lifts running, so we were able to go up to the top of the hill and check out the view.  Very beautiful

Just about bed time.

Baby, oh BABY!

Our big news is out already, but this summer we decided to try to have one more baby.  I have always wanted 3 kids and Nick was up for that too.  I have PCOS and it makes it difficult to get pregnant so we knew that if we were going to have another baby we would probably need a little help.  We did the same thing with Dominic and for him it worked the first time.  We were hopeful the same would happen.  On August 11th I took a pregnancy test and after taking many pregnancy test in my life, for the 3rd time it was positive!  I was very excited, but cautious.  We did not tell anyone for quite a while.  A couple weeks after the positive test we headed to an ultrasound to make sure the baby was viable and that we could see a heart beat.  At times I have joked that having twins would be easier than what Vince was as a baby, because we had so many appointments, but I really did not ever expect that we would find out which was easier.  With doing fertility we knew that our chance of having twins was about 15 percent.  The normal rate without fertility is 1-2 percent.  The doctor started to do the ultrasound and he started to count.  "There is one, and there is the second one, let's see if there is a third."  There was not a third!  After that, he looked at us and asked us very calmly if we were expecting two babies.  I don't know if anyone ever expects twins, but it will be very exciting!   I am not sure if we have gotten used to the idea that there will be two babies coming home in March or April.

I needed to make sure it was true :)
Two of them!

Fun with Friends

My goal over the summer was to get out and do stuff with the boys and we did!  Not only did we spend time up north, but once a week for most of it we met up with friends and went to different places around our area.  We have never really explored our area too much, so it was fun.  We met up with my co-worker, Amanda and her kids - Luke and Nora, quite a few time.  We went to the library for story time, the mall to play at the play place, the splash pad in Lansing, the science center, and the park.  It was fun!  We also went to the Zoo with our neighbors, a baseball game with my cousin Lisa and her family in Kalamazoo, and went swimming in Uncle Paul and Aunt Kathy's pool!  I am not sure we will be able to do as much next summer, but we will try to do some of it again.

Dominic finally was brave enough to go on Sandy at Meijer
this summer

Vince gets casted every 6 months or so.  It is for his braces.  Kevin does a great job with it.
Mooville Ice Cream!  We went with Amy, Emeila, and Alexis.

 Swimming time with the Bellmore's
Lisa took Jojo and Dominic for a walk and they ended up getting to run the bases
4 of the 5 boys. TJ and Vince were pretty into the game the whole time.

August and our up north trips

The weather in August, for the most part, was amazing!  We ended up making two trips up there at the last minute!  The first one was to Traverse City.  I had never taken Nick out to Empire or the area around there so we decided to check it out.  It had been a long time since I was there and I had forgotten how nice it was.  It was a beautiful day too!  I am looking forward to going back next summer. We also went putt putt golfing at the best place to do it, Pirates Cove.   The second weekend we went back to Torch Lake.  Again, it was great weather.
On the way out to Empire we stopped at Greystone Mansion, where we got married and walked around again :)
 North Bar
and over the hill Lake Michigan!
 Lake Michigan was cold!
The boys were all brave and when in, I preferred the other side.
This summer was really the first one that both boys enjoyed being in the water.

On Sunday we went to the beach in Traverse.  It is right next to the splash pad, so we sent back and forth between the water and splash pad.

My favorite picture from the year of the 4 of us :)

I like the bubble in in the water on this one.
