School Things and Grandma Jan's B-Day

Vince had a museum day where all of the kids did research on a historic figure and then presented about them.  It was really cute!  Dominic had a spring concert that was equally cute!  For Grandma Jan's birthday we all went out to Relli's and had a delicious dinner!

Special Nights Out :)

This year I got to go on special dates.  I got to go to musicals with Nick and I got to go to a Mother/Son dance with the older two.  The boys were excited to go, which I know will not always be the case.  Nick and I saw, The Book of Mormon, Waitress, and On Your Feet.  They were all really good.  The casts are incredibly talented!

 While the parking garage empties out we sometimes go to a local rooftop bar and have a drink too. :)

Basketball

Vince was invited to be the water boy for the varsity boys basketball team and he really enjoyed it!

The boys also did a short basketball camp too.

 The team had a good run and Vince got to be a part of all of it.

Basement Renovation

Our basement was pretty dated and in need of a face lift.  We had planned on doing a little more to it and maybe someday we will, but it is really a space for the boys now.  We took out the carpet, painted the ceiling, walls, and floor.  Nick did all of the carpet removal and it was a little harder than either of us thought it would be, but it got done.  Our next project is the other two rooms in the basement.  We will do the utility room first and then move on to the extra bonus room that will be a office/workout room.  We plan on eventually putting an egress window in that room, so we can have a 5th bedroom/guest bedroom. 

 The carpet was so bad!  It kind of made you dizzy if you looked at it long enough. 

 The brown couch was left by the prior owner and it works for now.  It is a bit musty, but the boys dont really care.  The futon is from when I went to college 18 years ago!  

9 Snow Days's 2nd Semester!

We had one crazy winter last year!  2nd semester we saw 9 snow days, which meant that I got 9 extra days with my boys!  5 of the snow days happened in one week and Nick got a couple of days off too!  It was the polar vortex bomb, or something like that.  The temperatures were around the -30 degree mark, which meant we were stuck inside for that week, which did get to be a little too much togetherness ;).  I would love for a few snow days again this year, but hopefully not because it is -30 out!

 I got to put them down for naps on my snow day and it did not always go very well.

Mom and Dad Night Out

For Christmas I got Nick tickets to a Michigan hockey game.  Our friends were able to come to the game with us!  It was nice to have a night out without the kids and do adult things. :)

 The wall of every Michigan football win was cool!  Michigan beat Olivet College a long time ago!
