The Flu and Easter

Three days before Spring Break, we came down with the flu.  I have to say it was the worst flu I have ever had!  I got it first, Vince was next, and Nick got it last.  Dominic was the only one that did not get it and I am so happy about that.  Vince had never thrown up due to being sick before and it was not a nice experience for him.  From Tuesday after therapy until Thursday morning none of us did much.  We were miserable.  Thursday morning I went to work and then in the afternoon Nick went to work.  Amy and Eric, who watch the boys also got it, but a day after us, so they were out of commission too.  We had been planning on going up to Rogers City for Easter since it was that Sunday and we were feeling up to it so we ended up going.  We went up Friday because Nick's Aunt and Uncle have "Crab Cracking Friday" on Good Friday.  We had a great time, but in hind sight, we should have probably stayed home.  A bunch of people up there got sick too.  Not exactly sure if we were the ones to give it to them because the flu was pretty bad all around Michigan at that time, but if we were, sorry.  We headed home Saturday afternoon because Nick had to work on Monday and after being sick the week before we had a lot of stuff to catch up on.  The Easter Bunny came to our house that night and left some pretty good stuff for the boys.  The Easter Bunny also decided to eat a bunch of my flowers, which Vince thought was pretty funny.  He still brings it up three months later. :)

Part of the family up for Crab Cracking Friday
We all hung out in the kitchen after dinner and the boys played with bathroom magnets
They were able to stick them to the dishwasher.  Who knew bathroom magnets could be so much fun!

I read on a blog that you can color eggs with kool aid, so we had to try it.
We also made a batch of kool aid to drink and Vince loved it.  It was his first time having it, yes I know, we have been depriving our child of the good stuff. :)
Vince really enjoyed putting the eggs in the cups
Dominic wanted in on the action, but he will have to wait until next year to get in there
I have to say, I was pretty impressed with how well the colors turned out
The Easter Bunny brought the boys lots of good stuff, golf clubs, a base ball bat, and of course chocolate.  We had gotten them some cadbury eggs, but after reading a post someone put on facebook about the ingredients in them, we put them away.  If you don't ever want to eat one again ask me and I will fill you in.  It is pretty gross!

Dominic really wanted to get the eggs, he was just starting to get into stuff at this point.
