Thanksgiving

This year for Thanksgiving we did it simple and small at our house.  Ralph, Jan, and Chris came over.  Luckily, this year there was not a trip to the ER, although, I did go to urgent care the next day for my foot, but it was fine. :)

The boys helped me prep the salad and veggies the day before Thanksgiving
I made a couple pies, Apple and Coconut
 Turkey Day, Gobble, Gobble

Apple Cider and Champagne, it was good!
Jan and Ralph cooked the Turkey and some other things
Chris is always at the kids table

Tony loves to sit on peoples laps!

Mudroom Renovation

Throughout November we worked on our mudroom and turning the closet into cubbies or as the boys would say, lockers.  We knew we needed to get it done, but once the snow stuff came out, it became even more of a need!  We finished it over Thanksgiving break.

The flooring we did at the same time as the boys bathroom, so that was done a couple months before we did the closet.

So much stuff and not enough room.
 The plans

All cleared our and ready to go

 Step one, make the bench
We had some very good helpers

Bench complete and ready to stain
We have 6 cubbies, one for each of us
All done!  I think I might have been most excited for this reno because it impacts our lives all the time.  There is now room for all the things!

Boy Scouts and a Signing

Vince has a new friend and his friend is in Boys Scouts.  His friends Mom asked if Vince had ever thought about joining, so we talked to him and he wanted to do it.  So far he has liked it a lot.  He got to participate in a raingutter regatta this year and although he did not win, he had fun.

We also got to go to Nick's cousins daughters signing later that week.  She is a gymnast and will be going to Michigan State next year on a full ride athletic scholarship!  The boys got a little antsy during it, but because it was at a gym, there was stuff for them to do. :)

 They found the climbing wall.
Alex and Vince built with foam blocks

We also went to Meijer to get the boys their Christmas ornament for the year and the boys all rode on the horse.  It is still only 1 penny!  I took a picture of Dominic too, but for some reason it did not save on my phone.

Tony was a little nervous, but he liked it after a little bit.

Field Trip and Birthdays

I was able to go on a field trip with Vince this fall and it was great!  The class went to the Big History Museum in Lansing and they got to go all week long.  I had never heard of it before and was super impressed with it.  I love it when education can move beyond the classroom.

The day after the field trip I had my birthday and then Nicks was two days after.  The boys got us nice presents and we got to have yummy treats.  The best present may have been from the twins to Nick.  They got him, "Don't Step In It."  It is a game where you try not to step in the piles of fake dodo.  Good times. :)

So many cool things at the Museum!
